THINGS TO DO IN HICO, TEXAS

There are plenty of fun, one-of-a-kind activities in historic Hico, Texas. Climb to new heights in a converted grain silo turned climbing gym, take a stroll on the walking trail lining the banks of the Bosque River, roll around the battlefield in mini tanks playing paintball, or book a fishing or hunting adventure on one of the many ranches around town.

Siloville Climbing Gym

Visit Siloville Climbing Gym for a one-of-a-kind climbing experience. The climbing gym is housed in a converted grain silo with climbing inside and outside. Test your strength and agility on the obstacle course and low ropes course or take a trip on the zip line.

Splash Pad

After a long day of shopping and exploring, cool off from the summer heat at the city of Hico’s splash pad, located next to the walking trail and baseball fields.

Hico Walking Trail

Take a leisurely stroll on the tree-lined walking trail that meanders along the Bosque River, or have a picnic lunch at one of the many covered tables overlooking the river.

Hico City Park

Located along both sides of the Bosque River, the Hico City Park spreads across 43 acres and includes three covered pavilions, RV spaces, picnic areas, restrooms with shower facilities, a volleyball court, two playgrounds and a horseshoe area. It also includes over one mile of paved hike and bike trails along the tree-lined, north bank of the Bosque River, two baseball/softball fields, one T-ball/youth field, a large soccer field, a concession stand and an aquatic splash pad.

Hico’s Fallen Hero Memorial Disc Golf Course

Test your frisbee throwing skills at the City of Hico’s 18-hole disc golf course. Surrounded by large pecan trees, and overlooking the Bosque River, the course is over 6,000 feet long.

Sierra Mesa Ranch

Sierra Mesa Ranch is a trophy whitetail hunting ranch offering hunts for whitetail deer, blackbuck antelope, and turkey. Work on your aim at the shooting range, or sit out around the fire pit and gaze at the starry night at the hunter’s cabin.

Putty Ranch

The 2,700 acre Putty Ranch offers hunting for whitetail deer, wild hogs, turkey, dove, ducks, coyote, and varmints as well as fishing. Lodging includes a rustic yet comfortable cabin with a total of six beds.

Mini Tank Battlefield Paintball

Minitank Battlefield Paintball is a 66 acre paintball park featuring one-of-a-kind mini tanks and 4-wheelers mounted with paintball guns. Test your aim against opponents or on the driving course with static targets.
